Shilin Night Market is Taipei’s largest and best-known night market in Shilin district with utmost in convenience having MRT Jiantan Station nearby. Previously operated on Jihe Road, right across MRT Jiantan Station in Shilin District, the famous Taipei Shilin Night Market has moved from its temporary site to its newly reconstructed home on December 25, 2011. The temporary site of Shilin Night Market will be torn down for the construction of the Taipei Performing Arts Center that is planned to open in 2015. Moreover, night markets have played a big role in Taiwan’s tourism industry.  There are over 100 night markets around the country. Most visitors must go to Taiwan’s night market because people believe that Taiwan has the best night market scene in the world.
